During the Christmas season, we pause and reflect on the humble and divine birth of Jesus Christ. We equally pay attention and reflect on his message of forgiveness, salvation, reconciliation, hope and peace.
As we prepare to usher in a New Year, let us give praise and thanks to Almighty GOD for his many blessings bestowed on us. The arrival of a New Year is a time of reflection, of looking back on accomplishments and of things left unfinished. We rejoice in the commemoration and inauguration of HARAKATI ZA MUUNGANO. Thanks to the contributions of member country secretariats.
As we pass resolutions for the year 2025 and beyond, HARAKATI ZA MUUNGANO resolve to pursue collapsing of physical colonial barriers, elimination of trade barriers, promotion of sub-regional integration, instigation of bold policy reforms and supporting sustainable development in the region. HARAKATI ZA MUUNGANO resolve to embrace diverse ideas and ensure the active involvement of the masses in the process of policy reforms, good governance and the free movement of people, goods, services, capital, labour and business across borders.
Our region has great potential and our resilient people have the capacity to rise above the challenges we face to make the West African Sub Region as great as it ought to be.
I wish all citizens and residents of our member countries a merry Christmas season and a prosperous new year 2025 that is filled with good health, happiness and success.
